Animaniacs is the next project to reboot by Netflix, the director Steven Spielberg is going to revive this 90s cartoon for the next generation.
Netflix aired the Animaniacs in the States last year, and the cartoon showed the peak of its popularity, again. So, Netflix bosses asked Steven Spielberg to revive the iconic cartoon, that should become a real hit among 20-somethings reliving the cartoons of their childhood.
Steven Spielberg developed the original version after the success of Tiny Toon Adventures, and the famed director is expected to be involved in the creation of this potential reboot. The boost has caused bosses at Amblin Television and Warner Bros to consider remaking the classic cartoon.
Animaniacs, the secret of success on the 90s
Animaniacs was made up of a range of mini-segments, all brought together by the roaming Warner siblings – Yakko, Wakko and Dot – who had been trapped in the water tower at the Warner Bros film lot since the 1930s, until their escape. A total of 99 Animaniacs episodes were made between 1993 and 1998 – ending with the 1999 direct-to-video release Wakko’s Wish.
