Bomb explodes in Brussels, no injures reported

Bomb explosion at 02:30 GMT has woke up the residents of Neder-Over-Heembeek, northern Brussels. No injuries reported neither terroristic traces. An early morning incident happened in the premises of the Brussels Institute of Criminology. in Neder-Over-Heembeek, in northern Brussels.

The powerful bomb explosion in Neder-Over-Heembeek, in northern Brussels, was registered in early hours on Monday. No victims or injuries, says spokeswoman of the Brussels Institute of Criminology Ine Van Wymersch. A car rammed through three fences before detonating the bomb.

One of the versions of bomb’s explosion at the CrimeLab in Brussels is an arson attack designed to destroy criminal evidence. No terroristic traces, just a criminal act, assured the Brussels prosecutor’s office.

The Criminal institute is linked to Belgium’s federal justice body. The forensic analysis is ongoing but there’s no link between jihadists and this explosion, said Ine Van Wymersch:

“It’s probably not terrorism. It’s a criminal act. I cannot confirm that there was any bomb.”
