Sirius Problems
I have long subscribed to Sirius XM Radio Inc.’s ( Nasdaq : SIRI ) internet feed… for 12.95 a month. Yes, that is overpaying when you can add the Internet radio to an existing radio subscription for just 2.99. I have my computer plugged into my sound system, which also works as my computer’s speakers… so it made just as much sense for me to buy the Internet feed as it was to buy a dock and play unit, which would just become a hassle.

I have long been a proponent of Internet radio, but after the royalty rates went up for song play, good stations are few and far between… unless those stations are foreign. Leaving me with few options I decided to try out Sirius XM’s Internet offering, and was very happy in what I heard. The quality of the Djs on Sirius far surpass the talent of even the biggest market terrestrial stations. Did I mention, no commercials?
Switch to TradeKing and get up to $150 in transfer fees reimbursed.
Finally wanting Sirius in my car, as standard am talk radio was making my head explode, I decided to call and add a car subscription. I went to Wal-Mart and bought the cheapest Sirius radio I could find, and installed it in about 10 minutes. After I went on line to activate my radio, as I heard there was no activation fee needed, who knows if that is true… That did not work. So, stubbornly I called in, and was told that both radios would run me over $20/month, when they should have just cost me $14.95/month (the family friendly package with Internet added). I had to walk the person through what to do to get me that price… I had to cancel my Internet subscription, and will have to call back in a few days to add it to my subscription. Sirius XM Radio needs to realize that people who can and want to pay for radio, are the same people who do not want to deal with the bs of terrestrial radio.
I love the content of Sirius Radio, and own Sirius Xm’s Stock ( NASDAQ : SIRI ), but something needs to be down about the website and billing system. Sirius Xm’s website, is horrible, and they have yet to merge XM and SIRIUS when it comes to their Internet presence… which just adds to consumer confusion.
No wonder why retail sales are down…

I LOVE Sirius, but I also agree whole heartedly with your assessment!
They need to stop the attempts to squeeze every last penny out of customers and merge the 4 packages. the different subscription packages are ridiculous.
