The Battle Between Shorts and Longs Continue. A Sirius ( SIRI ) War.

Sirius (SIRI) Finally Killed the Shorts, guess not… Short traders realized how high the climb was on Monday, took advantage of it and rode it all the way down. Currently, Sirius XM Radio’s stock SIRI is holding at .44-46, which is still higher than just a week ago. Truth is, the shorts did lose power, even in they won the day.
( NASDAQ: SIRI ) is a penny stock. Generally, penny stocks do not get much play unless something is happening. Because SIRI is such a widely held penny stock, it receives much more attention and play than other penny stocks as the reward has a much higher potential. Sirius XM Radio, is a company that if it does weather the storm could be a solid 5.00 stock, within a year. Yes, a profit would have to be reported, and the company would have to be building up cash levels and paying down debt…, but it is possible. Whether or not the recession will allow it, is something completely different.
A year or two ago, Sirius Radio moved away from trying to push retail sales, and relied solely on OEM deals. Once the merger was announced, most chances of securing a retail sale were practically gone, as consumers did not know which one to choose. Sirius Radio had Howard Stern, but XM was still a little more “edgy” and greatly appealed to the younger crowd.
The biggest problem the company has is not being able to completely merge the two streams. The a’ la cart deal the new company is offering is terrific, but without the advertising or push to consumers, nobody is going to know about it. What could have been an offer for the retail level, has turned out to be an offer for existing subscribers.
Sirius XM Satellite Radio has many things going for it. (NASDAQ : SIRI) The stock also has many things going for it…, but because it is such a high name penny stock manipulation play will be much greater. Only the institutions can “play” with stocks that have a $10.00 price. A group of your average investors can do this, and are more likely to, with big stock in the .50 range.

War is the waste of resource. But some cases this is mandatory.
