North Carolina Surprise for Clinton and Obama
There has been some interesting developments in the past few days and they are reflected in the latest poll from North Carolina. First, the poll was taken a day after North Carolina Governor Michael F. Easley endorsed Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama’s minister situation was revived and the Pennsylvania momentum factor came into play.
Yes, the poll does mean good news for Hillary Clinton. The latest poll from Insider Advantage show her leading Barack Obama by 44 to 42%, but with a whopping 14% undecided. The last poll from Insider Advantage was taken back in March and at that time they had Obama in the lead by 49 to 34% with 17% undecided, which is not unusual that far from the primary. But with the primary less than a week away, 14% undecided is a large number.
This is one of the smaller polls, less than 600, and the only one that has shown Clinton in the lead., but other polls have shown Obama’s lead dropping to as low as 5%. One thing, Obama cannot take North Carolina for granted. He cannot spend all of his time in Indiana.
Now, picking this one poll apart, we find that they askedone question “ I fyouare voting in the Democratic Primary, or have voted in early voting, which candidate do you prefer?” A simple question where they did not mention any names. The resulst show that Obama and Clinton come out almost equal with registered Democrats at 43% for Clinton and 43.6% for Obama. . Clinton gets her lead from independents, leading with them by 51.8 to 33.3%. I have said before that independents will make a big impact on this election, and not only in the primaries.
This one poll is by far not definitive, but it does show voters moving over to the Clinton camp. If Obama does not win North Carolina by a large margin, loses in Indiana, where the race is very close now, but with most showing Clinton still leading, loses in West Virginia and Kentucky, where the last polls show Clinton with a large lead, there could be a very interesting convention.
This is the first election where polls are getting so much attention and it is all thanks to the internet. The internet makes everything readily available, right at our fingertips. If you don’t pick up the newspaper, or miss the nightly news, no problem. Get the information you want when you want it and it will make a difference not only in this election but in every one to follow.

On April 30, 2008, Hillary Clinton gave an interview to Bill O’Reilly in which she stated:
“You know what. Rich people, God Bless Us. We deserve all the opportunities”

I don’t by any poll that shows Hillary close or winning. I live in NC and hands down this is Obama’s state. Too many blacks and we whites love him. No way. NC will explode if they try to lie, cheat and steal our votes and give them to Clinton.
PS-Wright is not an issue here. Not this time. Not in NC.

Actually for the past few days (since 4/30) Obama has been gaining ground against Clinton in North Carolina, not losing it.

Even if this poll were accurate, the margin of error is probably at least 3%, meaning that the 44%-42% is actually meaningless. It really means that Hillary is between 41-47% and Obama is between 39-45%. It’s that kind of stuff that is misleading and if the website doesn’t clearly explain it for its readers it can turn an election for no reason other than mob mentality.
