The first lady of France, Brigitte Trogneux, is 25 years older her husband, they met in the high school, she used to be his drama teacher of the future French President. Emmanuel Macron won the presidential election and soon to be the new leader of a nation.

France got new President and new first lady, despite the big difference in the age of Mr Macron and his wife (she is 64), the couple is happy. This year, Emmanuel will turn 40 years, up to date, he is the youngest French leader.

Madame Macron isn’t technically Macron, she preferred to stay with her own last name – Trogneux, and now Brigitte is the first lady of France. How Emmanuel and Brigitte met?

Emmanuel Macron and Brigitte Trogneux: the love story

The first lady of France used to be a French teacher at Macron’s private high school in Amiens, this artistic woman also ran the theatre club where Emmanuel was a budding actor. According to the family history, it was a love at first sight, the 16-year-old Emmanuel fell in love with the mature woman. As a matter of fact, this kind of relation is outlawed even in France but the fresh-rewritten biography of President tells a bit different story.

Brigitte and Emmanuel

According to it, in 1993, Macron’s parents did really care that their gifted, smart and attractive son has a love affair with then 40-year-old Trogneux. The parents of Emmanuel asked her to stay away from their 16-year-old son, at least until he turned 18. When he moved to Paris at the age of 18, she jumped ship from her own family soon after and followed him down.

Brigitte in her interview with Paris Match magazine noted:

“At the age of 17, Emmanuel said to me, ‘Whatever you do, I will marry you!'”
