Mads Mikkelsen as ‘Star Wars’ secret weapon

Mads Mikkelsen played a wide spectre of the roles, the American public was astounded with his Hannibal Lecter and Marvel supervillains, the Europeans are proud of his Bond bad guys. Now, the Danish actor appeared in the ‘Rogue One’, the role in the Star Wars may be actor’s breakthrough moment.

The Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen started his career in the late Eighties, he was a 19-year-old dancer when he went to New York and studied at Martha Graham’s school for four months. But the dancing was over at the age 26, then Mads enrolled in acting school, and he was 30 when another Dane, director Refn, cast him in Pusher. This movie made Mads extremely famous personality in Denmark.

The career of Mikkelsen was boosted with the Le Chiffre’s role in the Bond saga Casino Royale. In Rogue One, the events of which predate 1977’s Episode IV, Mads plays Galen Erso, who is just brilliant in his art of the creating the planet-obliterating Death Star.

“He’s a man of the Empire. And, believe it or not, they have love and families in the Empire as well. He knows there’s the possibility of his invention being used in a destructive way, but it doesn’t stop him,”

said Mads about his role in Star Wars as a secret weapon.
