Mariah Carey’s performance in Times Square and her lip-sync failure

Mariah Carey’s performance in Times Square and her lip-sync failure

Mariah Carey performed some songs during her New Year’s concert in Times Square, but technical difficulties caused a lip sync failure. It was a very awkward moment for Carey.

The singer became a laughingstock in social networks, where unkind and ungrateful people have suggested that the performance of Carey was ‘hacked’ by Russia. The internet trolls were extremely glad to the technical difficulties that complicate the performance of the world-famous singer. While Carey tried to create a New Year mood, the crowd of her fans in social networks discussed the lip-sync failure and this technical failure.

Mariah Carey is a very experienced singer, but the song ‘All I want for Christmas is you’ in Times Square wasn’t performed in a perfect way due to technical difficulties. At one point, Carey stopped singing and began pacing the stage – visibly upset – while encouraging fans to finish off the lyrics to ‘Emotions’ for her. She told the crowd:

“I’m trying to be a good sport here,”

adding that she couldn’t hear what she was supposed to be singing.

Despite these attempts to ‘let the auditory sing’, some suggested that Russia had ‘hacked’ Carey’s performance, while Piers Morgan wrote ‘RIP Mariah Carey’s credibility.’
