Netflix allows users to download TV and movie

Netflix allows users to download TV and movie

Netflix offers to download some of its video content for the further watching in offline mode. Quite interesting and useful move, especially for the users who loves to watch TV series.

Netflix became even more flexible than ever before. From now, the platform is allowing some of its video items be downloaded and watched offline. The company has announced this news this week, Netflix said some of its original video shows were already available to download and more would be made available in the future. Users are glad, that is real Christmas gift!

Earlier, the company said letting people download content made platform’s work too complex. Obviously, the rivals like BBC iPlayer, All 4 and Amazon Prime Video made Netflix be more flexible and give its users the ability to watch content when offline.

According to Tom Harrington from the consultancy Enders Analysis:

‘It’s surprising because just weeks ago they said it wasn’t going to happen. You can understand why they wouldn’t want to do it because it opens up a whole pot of rights issues. Offering a download service will cost Netflix more’.

Whatever it be, Netflix’s rivals already do it, Amazon is letting users offline-watching, and Sky made similar attempts with its Sky Q. Of course, Netflix doesn’t want to be left behind, or allow to the rivals take an advantage.
