The paper said that almost one in three drivers admit to having used their phones while on the road in the past year. According to the statistics, too often the conversation on mobile phones while the driving ends tragically.

Paul Baker, of Witney, is one of a number of people in Oxfordshire to campaign against phone use while driving. His 14-year-old daughter, Liberty, was killed in 2014 by a driver who was using his phone moments before he hit her in Curbridge Road. Accidents involving a driver being distracted by talking on a mobile phone have begun to be prosecuted as negligence similar to speeding.
