Paris Attacks Suspect Still On Run After Three-Day Security Lockdown In Brussels

One of Europe’s most-wanted men, Salah Abdeslam, the Paris attacks suspect, is still on the run even after sweeping overnight raids by Belgian police arresting more 5 people.

Today was the third day of security lockdown in Belgium capital Brussels to hunt the suspected Islamist militant amid warning of possible Paris-like attacks that killed 129 earlier this month.

Authorities say the Brussels barkeeper Salah Abdeslam returned to the city hours after the Paris attacks on November 13. In several raids on Sunday sixteen people were arrested.

Meanwhile, most of the cinema houses in the city, metro services, museums and several shops remained closed today. Schools and Universities too remained shut down and many office staff opted to work from home.

According to prosecutor Eric Van Der Sypt, the Belgian police raided nineteen places on Sunday in Molenbeek area, which is home to many of the Paris attackers.

He added no explosives or firearms have yet been found from the raids.
