Ron Paul looks to take movement beyond Presidential campaign

Ron Paul is looking to take the movement he started with his Presidential campaign and propel it forward beyond the 2008 Presidential elections in order to have a positive impact in the United States and abroad.

In a video released on his Presidential campaign’s website late Thursday night, Ron Paul mentioned several ways that he will continue to spread his message, despite the fact that his Presidential campaign will not attain victory, barring a miracle.

Ron Paul stated that he already has a multi-candidate Political Action Committee called the Liberty PAC, the goal of the Liberty PAC will be to support like-minded candidates running for office at every level of government.

In the video Ron Paul also mentions the F.R.E.E. Foundation, of which he is the founder, this foundation will be used in furthering the education of citizens on the issues of free-market economics, sound money and limited government.

In a previous video released by the campaign Ron Paul had said that he was interested in holding a large rally in Washington, D.C. in order to demonstrate the large numbers of people that support his message. In the most recent video however, Ron Paul stated that he was not interested in his campaign being the lead organizer in such an event, but rather that it should be organized by the grassroots movement. He said that he believed that June 21st would be the best date to hold the event in Washington. We shall see in the coming weeks if the grassroots is able to begin to organize a Washington D.C gathering.

Ron Paul briefly addressed the current crisis of the United States economy in relation to his campaign by saying, “The money issue gives our movement credibility and a chance to offer sound solutions.”

Implying that although his message was not able to gather enough votes in the last few months to make victory in the Presidential race a possibility, the message that he offers will continue to be relevant even beyond the November elections, and therefore he urges his supporters to continue the fight.

Ron Paul stated in the video, “I don’t mind playing a key role in the revolution, but it has to be more than a Ron Paul revolution.” He would like to see the movement that has grow so much in the last few months continue as a grassroots movement rather than a top down movement.

Although Ron Paul did allude to the fact that he has no chance of winning the nomination, he did indicate that he will continue to use his candidacy to spread his message.

  1. Great article! finally someone who isnt misinterpereting his video. I’m going to D.C. and the National Convention to show my support for Paul and his platform, i hope you all will do the same. I’m also voting for none other than Ron Paul, even if its a write in, even if they won’t count it, even if its all rigged anyway, I will NOT vote for the other candidates, period.

  2. I think this is a wonderful Idea. Many people who think that they know their constitution really don’t. To be able to educate people so that they remain as a republic is probably the most important thing you could do for someone right now.

Many people are not even aware that they have lost anything. They are not involved in their government nor do they see any reason to be. They don’t understand how it works. So lets do educate them. Even if we have to do it as an individual.

There is a site called “Break the Matrix” and I am sure they in the future will be able to help also. If you have not checked it out yet go see that site and pledge for your shares of Ron Paul’s media. They are going to make a TV station now. So getting the word spread about the revolution will be even easier to do.

I think the question I would start with is “What is this revolution about?” I think it is about saving our republic.
Ask kids from schools today what type of government we have and you will get the word “democracy” Think I’m nuts? Ask them. They are the ones who will be left behind. Just what are we leaving them?

Even teachers are ignorant in many areas of government.

We could not have asked for a better leader. Leaders have a vision and Ron Paul has that vision. He didn’t abandon us. He stayed with us. To help us. This isn’t something that Ron Paul has to do. I think he feels he MUST do it because he sees what is happening and, like us, he is an American and now he want to see the progress Americans can make by themselves. I think Ron Paul wants to see this happen. Because unlike the other candidates, Ron Paul truly does care about the American people, and he takes great pride in his country and it’s legacy.

  3. What Ron Paul actually said in the video, I believe, is that “conventional victory is not available in the presidential race.” He said nothing about unconventional victory, which is what we knew it would have to be all along. For conventional victory, we would have had to be winning primaries, and since fraud and media bias have prevented that from occurring, we must pursue unconventional victory by getting Ron Paul delegates to the convention in September. The whole world is counting on us to get this done, and we are the only ones who can do it. There is nothing “fair” about what’s happened in this primary process. We must now use their system, and their rules, to defeat them at their game.

We must get RP delegates to St. Paul in September, and make sure that the only person qualified to lead this nation at this critical time gets the nomination, and then wins the general election. Delegates should look into the possibility of unbinding themselves, via a vote at their state conventions, if they are bound to McManiac and if the majority of the delegates do not support him. We must make sure that the best man wins. And we all know the best man is Ron Paul.

If Ron Paul is not our next president, we are doomed, so we must make sure it happens. Failure is not an option. We all know what is at stake, and the whole world is waiting watching. We must not let them down. It’s all up to us. If we fail, all is lost. Never give up! If Ron Paul is not on the ballot in November, I will write him in, as he is the only one who deserves my support. I would suggest voting by absentee ballot in order to do this, and writing in “Congressman Dr. Ron Paul” or “Congressman Ronald Ernest Paul” so there can be no confusion.

Someone suggested that the next Ron Paul money bomb should be called the “If we fail, the whole world is f@#*ed” money bomb. Think about it.

  4. I agree, with the above. I am a delegate and will vote for RP. We need to keep the movement alive. I will be writing him in too, if it gets to that. He’s our only hope. Let’s think about raising more money, and bringing back the momentum, there was in the beginning of the race. We can catch our breath, and continue on.

  5. Supporters of the American Empire concept of a super military funded by fake money will have several choices for President. The rest of us will have no choice. It does not matter who we vote for. We will still get an international candidate. For that reason, we need a concerted effort to develop a massive write in campaign. This is something that the Ron Paul official campaign cannot do because they have committed to the Republican Party. But the grassroots that put RP on the Presidential map can get this started.

  6. The name of the game is delegates and we have a lot of them. There are going to be a lot of very, very surprised people at the national convention when they see with their own eyes what unfolds. The GOP nominee may not be who they expect. I cannot wait to see and hear the MSM reaction come this September in St. Paul (appropriately).

  7. Wow. Finally, a main stream meadia outlet not misrepresenting Dr. Paul’s video to the American public. What I think is sad is that the m.s.m. has tried to surpress Ron Paul from the start in an attempt to lure the American public away from a ‘conservative government’ since Bush was mislead the country for 8 years. They want to put a ‘minority’ (black man or woman) against a man who is Bush incarnate for a third term only with more horrible ramifications. (McCain- who may I mention was not born a U.S. Citizen as it requires in the U.S. Constitution to hold the Presidential office, he was naturalized from Panama when he was 16) They leave out a man whos ideas and policies will change this country for the better. Rather then putting a democrat with no expericance in office because he has a nack for pleasing the American peoples ear drums. Obama speaks of ending the war, when in fact he voted to continue funding the war. He channels Dr. Pauls stance on legalization. He is what the people want to hear. Dr. Paul tells it how it is. Cut & dry. America cannot continue on its path with weak leaders and imminent selfdistruction. He is not an isolationist but belives that we need to focus on our country’s problems before trying to ‘fix’ (take over) everyone else’s. Samuel Adams said ‘It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen to set brush fires in peoples minds.’ Ron Paul’s revolution will not end because people have begun to realize the harmful effect of being controlled by Democratic m.s.m. Regardless of the outcome of this election, America will be a better place becaus eof Ron Paul.

    Ron Paul for President 2008

  8. The meida treated Ron Paul poorly during the GOP Primarys,I felt Huchbee stayed in the running to keep Ron Pauls name from appearing under McCain on TV. GOOD LUCK RON

  9. As Ron Paul has pointed out it is up to us not entirely to him to keep the movement alive and to passing the torch.

If my little district in central MA is a microcosm and representative of the entire country, it is clear that there are a number of individuals in every town and city and neighborhood who understand Ron Paul’s message.

It is now up to each of us to do a number of things to help the movement to grow large enough for successful political action.

First of all each of us should take the trouble to educate ourselves more by reading the books which Ron Paul said he used to learn about the Constitution and economics. I would add a select few including Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged and her essays The Virtue of Selfishness and Capitalism:The Unknown Ideal not to mention The Objectivist Newsletter which includes articles on Antitrust and book reviews of books by Ludwig von Mises.

Then keep in touch with others in your city, town and neighborhood for moral support and to join forces to help to spread the message, e.g. letters to the editor, DVDs of Ron Paul interviews and speeches on Community TV, running for office, etc.

It is crucial that we keep active, that we know that we are not alone and that others who share the vision are active as well all across the country.
