Rihanna met with children on Malawi charity trip

Rihanna went to Malawi for visiting the schools and to help in promoting the education in this African country. A charity tour of the R’n’B star has begun on January 27, the singer and philanthropist acts as an ambassador for Global Citizen and the Global Partnership for Education.

Rihanna is working now in Malawi: this week, the star spends her time with key educators, officials, students and mentors of this African country. The aim of the charity tour is the promoting the education on behalf of her Clara Lionel Foundation. On Friday, the 28-year-old performer was spotted at a secondary school for girls in Lilongwe.

The singer and the ambassador for Global Citizen and the Global Partnership for Education (GCGPE) has a meeting with the GPE’s board of directors chair in the village in Malawi, some photos with Hugh Evans and Julia Gillard are available in the web.

Rihanna is well-known as a philanthropist, the Barbados-born singer launched her first charity organisation: Clara Lionel Foundation aimed to improve health and education, as well as arts and culture around the planet. Last fall, Rihanna acted as a headliner of the organisation’s annual Global Citizen Festival.

As a matter of surprise, the songstress secretly made the Malawi journey but not for a music performance. She visited Lilongwe girls secondary school as an advocate for education.
