Ted Cruz releases shocking new campaign ad

Ted Cruz seems to be the only candidate to have a chance against Donald Trump in the race for the Republican nomination. The Texas Senator is well know for his ideas about reinforcing the borders, in order to stop illegal immigration, a lot of people agreeing with him from this point of view.

Considering this, Ted Cruz‘s campaign decided that his new ad should definitely focus on this aspect, depicting a group of white-collar workers storming into the United States. Basically, what the Senator is trying to transmit is that illegal immigration has a negative impact on the country’s economics.

Illegal immigration is affecting everybody

“And I will say that the politics of it will be very, very different if a bunch of lawyers or bankers were crossing the Rio Grande,” the Republican said. “Or if a bunch of people with journalism degrees were coming over and driving down the wages in the press, then we would see stories about the economic calamity that is befalling our nation.”

The ad also included a line from a presidential debate from last November, in which the Republican candidate claimed that the whole illegal immigration issue would be seen totally different if bankers, lawyers or reporters were seeing smaller wages, instead of the industries that are affected by the issue.

“Imagine other category of people crossing the border.”

“I can tell you, it’s a very personal economic issue. And I will say the politics of it would be very, very different if a bunch of lawyers or bankers were crossing the Rio Grande,” Ted Cruz says in the ad as a group of men in suits cross the US’ southern border.

“Or if a bunch of people with journalism degrees were coming over and driving down the wages in the press,” he continued. “Then we would see stories about the economic calamity that is befalling our nation.”

At the end of the ad, Ted Cruz claims that immigration is a “very personal economic” issue, adding that if he will be elected as president, one of his priorities will be building a wall along the country’s border.

Border patrol will be increased with Cruz as President

“If I’m elected President, we will triple the border patrol. We will build a wall that works. We will secure the border,” he said.

Ted Cruz‘s ad made its debut this Tuesday, on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” and it’s currently being shown in New Hampshire.

Lately, a lot of Republican candidates have been focusing on immigration as a key issues for their campaigns. Donald Trump has also released a similar ad, according to The Independent, showing Mexican immigrants crossing the U.S. border. Still, it turned out to be a clip with immigrants in Morocco, from 2014, as stated by the same source.
