Angelina Jolie got a new Sak yant tattoo on her back just a month before the divorce. According to the former Thai monk, this sign on Jolie’s back should bind her to Pitt but Brangelina split very fast. Jolie’s tattoo master is famous for his artwork among celebs, Cara Delevigne and Brad Pitt were his clients, too.
Angelina Jolie is known for her passion for the tattoos, all her ornaments on the skin have the deep meaning, the most recent Sak yant tattoo was made in August 2016, prior to the Brangelina divorce. The former Thai monk Ajarn Noo Kanpai promised his client that this tattoo will protect the relations in the family, alas, it didn’t work. Last September, Angie filed for divorce.
Sak yant tattoo is a special procedure that is applying using a surgical steel needle. The never-seen-before photos are showing Angelina Jolie getting tattooed by a Thai former monk in Cambodia.
Last summer, the famed tattoo artist Ajarn Noo Kanpai was flown from Bangkok to Siem Reap in Cambodia, where she was filming her ‘First they killed my father’.
The mystical ink was applied using steel rods mounted with a surgical steel needle – more accurate than a tattoo gun, but also much more painful. The three Sak yant tattoos were applied to her back while her ex Brad Pitt was given a Buddhist symbol on his stomach.

The meaning of the new tattoo is “to symbolically bind them as husband and wife”, Angelina trusts Ajarn Noo Kanpai and uses his services since 2003. The tattoo artist and ex-monk calls himself as “the most well-known master of Thai spiritual tattoo, also known as Sak Yant”, his salon is based in a temple near Bangkok.
