Something New Is Brewing This December

On Thursday, December 16, 1773 Samuel Adams led patriots disguised as Narragansett Indians aboard the Dartmouth, Beaver, and Eleanour while they were docked at Griffin’s Wharf in Boston. Their purpose was to protest unfair colonial taxation at the hands of the British Monarchy. By the next morning 45 tons of tea lay useless at the bottom of the wharf. The tea was worth £10,000 but the courage and inspiration given to the colonials by this act was worth far more. This act went down in history as the act that defines the willfulness of Americans to be free at all costs.

There are many internet Patriots, united in liberty, who would like to bring this spirit of freedom and self reliance back to the forefront of American minds. Their vehicle this time will not be to disguise themselves as Narragansett, but to utilize an envelope, a stamp, and the United States Postal Service. These patriots would like you to join them in showing their leaders in Washington that they are not satisfied with the current direction of this nation. They are asking you to invest just a few dollars, and a few minutes of your time to help them stand up for American Liberty. Times have changed, but the call of freedom remains the same.
Below is the official White House policy on sending food items in the mail:

Gifts & Items sent to the White House often experience a significant delivery delay and can be irreparably harmed due to the security screening process. Therefore, please do not send items of personal importance, such as family photographs, because items may be unable to be returned.

We also request that gifts of a consumable nature, such as food, flowers, and other perishable items, not be sent to the White House due to the security screening process. While the President and Mrs. Bush and Vice President and Mrs. Cheney appreciate your thoughtfulness, they request that you look instead to your local community for opportunities to assist your neighbors in need.

After reading that, it is up to each individual to decide for themselves if they wish to participate.

  1. There is no way the conservatives are going to take Ron Paul. I hope Ron will go independent IF he doesnt get the nomination.

They’ll find someway for Mitt to cheat . . .

  2. Ron Paul rules.

  3. I don’t really like this idea. Firstly, I think it will be played poorly in the media and I think that will hurt Dr. Paul. The message I want to send is the one that will be heard when Ron Paul wins the nomination. Other messages are irrelevant and useless and will be completely ignored anyway.

I think that somehow this will be spun into a bomb threat or a psuedo-bomb threat or an anthrax threat or something along those lines a revolutionary threat…imagine the media reporting that people associated with the campaign have mailed packages to the President & others.

As a member of the military, I can tell you that likely nobody will be opening this unexpected packages. Which is why these will be spun into some sort of hoax bomb plot which the media will try to link to Guy Fawkes or something.

Please reconsider, your message is meaningless if it hurts on Ron Paul and no one in DC is listening anyway. Let’s use our limited time and hard earned money to win the nomination not send some meaningless message.

  4. I’d just like to add:

If only ONE misguided person does something stupid, or even ONE person who is trying to stop the Ron Paul Freedom Train does something stupid it will smear the entire Ron Paul campaign and destroy everything that we have achieved thus far. It will be game over.

Our grassroots movement is awesome WHEN it stays on message. But our message is directed to the AMERICAN People not the Washington power elite and the message is PEACE FREEDOM PROSPERITY and that Ron Paul CAN WIN.

The Teaparty07 will send that message to the American people, a huge rally in Boston sends that message. These things get Paul tons of media attention and show the strength of his support.

This “teabagging” does not–it is not directed to the American people and it doesn’t seem to have much to do with Ron Paul. The people in DC already know about him, and only one person has to claim that they “thought it was a bomb” to undo all of the hardwork we’ve done.

So we have to decide as a grassroots movement are we going to stay on target with the message of Ron Paul or are we going to start using the Ron Paul phenomenon to advance our own messages?

If the latter, the Ron Paul Revolution will suffer for it.

Please think about this & feel free to repost these comments on other sites as necessary.

  9. Something New Is Brewing This December…

[...]This December stand up with your fellow Americans make a friendly, fun, and loud statement for freedom. Help us celebrate the Anniversary of the Boston Tea Party by sending our elected leaders a very special gift. A gift that symbolizes America…

  10. cyn0n: How quaint, anarchy. Don’t worry. One day you will get out of highschool and have to get a real job.

  11. This is NOT a good idea. As mentioned above all it takes is ONE idiot to give ammunition toward spinning this negative and harming the campaign’s image. Frankly, it is also lazy and looks like an immature prank. We need to show how powerful we are by being intelligent, organized, serious, and adult. Letter writing is powerful and sensible. Have we all written our representatives about losing habeas corpus, and the new bills S. 1959 and H.R. 1955? Let’s not skip steps toward a hostile revolution. The current plan implies hostility, even if it stays on track. A MUCH BETTER plan would be to celebrate the anniversary of the Tea Party by mailing REAL letters to our representatives on that weekend, then alert news outlets of our actions.

  13. Re: “All it takes is one idiot”

Then you are saying Guilianni can just hire one idiot to pretend to be a supporter and do something stupid and then he can win the nomination?

If you assume this, then Paul has already lost.

The fact is people will look at what Paul says, not what so called ’supporters’ do.

  16. Please call Ron Paul headquarters before you send any tea.

  17. The REAL way to protest or help Ron Paul is to donate ANYTHING you can Dec 16th and join the Ron Paul Tea Party… this idea is well… lame… with the time and effort to do this, you should try to push our donations to Ron Paul to $10 million that day…. thats a TRUE message that will resound around the nation..

  18. One Idiot,

I didn’t say that a ’supporter’ doing something stupid would cause someone else to win the nomination. I said it would harm the campaign’s image, which I believe it would, and being a longshot the campaign needs all the help it can get.

We can both speculate about positive vs. negative effects, but I think we can both agree that what it helpful is putting money into the campaign donations. Why can’t we just concentrate on that? If people want to do more, then why not do real constituent things that take a bit more effort than a grocery store trip and grinning while sealing an envelope.
