The Iraq War
The Iraq war makes me sick. The people who support it, I think are crazy. I cannot even have a conversation anymore with someone who supports it. I used to be able too… now I just can’t get it. I have never supported the Iraq war, just because I didn’t agree with the money being spent, the reasons going, and the lives that we might lose for no reason. Even if Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction, he would have not used them against us in anyway. We should not be the world police. Now I felt this way, but I could understand why someone would want to go in. When George Bush first connected Iraq with Al qaeda, I knew he was lying. Saddam Hussein hated groups like Al qaeda, and would never let them into his country. While I do not agree with dictatorship, the dictators do know what the hell is going on. He hated Al qaeda because they undermined his authority. Why if just about all of the terrorists from 9/11 were from Saudi Arabia… why did we didn’t we go into Saudi… Oh wait… I know why. I am so sick of the commercials with a women saying “I have lost two men in Iraq” I believe they were her husband and son, and she is still arguing for the war! I cannot understand this. Propaganda should not work in this day and age! We have the internet… though they do monitor everything we do… We can get real truthful information. We do not have to listen to everything the government says. Instead of listening to them saying what is going on in a certain country, we can find out for ourselves!
I realize this has turned into a rant, but I am not sorry. Hillary Clinton and all of the democrats running bought into the lies. Don’t mention Barack Obama… he had a get out of jail free card because he didn’t vote for the war… He would have… Just like everybody else did. He would not have gone against the main leaders in his party… Iraq still looked enticing at that moment of time. (If I am wrong… and somebody can prove it by sending me a speech… or letter of him discouraging the war before it happened, I would love to read it.) The only candidate that didn’t support the war, and his speeches prove it is Ron Paul, he voted and spoke actively against the war. Watching the republican debate made me sick… litterally sick. While it is really know worse than the cowardly democrats who went right along with the war, didn’t fight it, and have not ended it yet. They should have ended it already… stop blaming Bush. You messed up too. At least most of you “admit” to it, yet you still do nothing. Wait… the speak in campaign ads… Get us out!
By the way if you are interested in blogging for this website… let me know. I don’t care if you have the opposite view, just don’t be an idiot. alex@politicallore.com

Ha! Those commercials are meant to show that since the woman lost her men in Iraq, why would she want to see them die for nothing? At this point in the war, lets make the most of it and keep on. Maybe it was a mistake in the beginning, that isn’t the issue anymore. The issue is whether to pull out or not. My opinion, why would we put so much money and lives into just to make it not worth anything? Statistics show that while the terrism is more likely during war, after war is WON it will be ended, not if we just pull out. If we pull out we will always have it lingering in the back of our minds that we could have a terrorist attack at any time. By finishing the war, we will feel safer. Iraq is only going to feel like we are weaker if we pull out so they are only going to feel stronger. In this case, terrorist attacks will only grow if we pull out, because they will feel like they have already overcome us and we are afraid of them. Okay, you want to ask me if I understand that the attacks aren’t coming from Iraq? yes- that was a mistake. We should have obviosly gone into Saudi Arabia, but don’t you think that now Iraq is going to be pissed! No kidding! That’s not going to stop them from coming in! Lets finish the war and let it be done.

So, what are we supposed to make the most of? What would you consider “winning”? And if you really are concerned with the deaths and the money, than you would know the best thing is to get out now. But if you would like to use the argument that we will be safer if we stay there for a 100 more years…. Don’t you think you would be more mad if somebody was holding a gun outside your door, watching your every move, and threatening never to leave. We are just in Iraq to save our name. But is saving our name worth a single United States Troop? They would like us more if we pulled out. Al qaeda wasn’t even in Iraq before we got there…
