The government is saying that they are making us safe. How can loss of our privacy and, in return, them knowing everything everything make us feel secure? How can this make us feel safe? What is even scarier is how the government goes about this “brainwashing”. Government propaganda is as prevalent today as it was during the world wars. The United States government spreads as much propaganda and slant as China or Cuba do. The U.S. government uses as much propaganda as ever to get the American people to support Iraq, to support the invasion of Iran. This propaganda costs the U.S. government billions.

There is absolutely nothing patriotic about the “Patriot Act”. Our founding fathers did not give us our rights just so we could give them back during a time of “crisis”. The Patriot Act allows and will create a government more like Big Brother, from Orwell’s classic book, than anything else.

But, If I am not doing anything wrong than I have nothing to fear, correct? You do realize that the “war on terror” is always going to be never ending, and with the Patriot Act passed into law permanently, the government will never decide on their own to give you these rights back? I am not even arguing that anybody had bad intentions creating, or signing the Patriot Act into law, I am saying that it is more dangerous than anybody has previously realized. (1 in every 350 Americans is considered a possible “terrorist”)
