Finland switched from pipeline gas from Russia to Russian LNG

Finland switched from pipeline gas from Russia to Russian LNG

Finland did not continue to pump gas from Russian pipelines, defiantly refusing to pay for it in rubles. However, this is just a part of Finnish imports, according to Novatek.

In fact, the country did not begin to rebuild production and logistics chains in order to abandon Russian energy resources. Instead, it continues to buy LNG from Russia.

“Finland, having abandoned Russian pipeline gas, is buying liquefied natural gas from the Cryogas-Vysotsk plant, its loading does not subside,” said Mikhelson, head of Novatek.

Russia has previously demanded that gas importers switch to a new fuel payment scheme. Everyone agreed to these conditions except Finland, Bulgaria and Poland.
