A noise explosive device was thrown at the Russian consulate in Finland

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that on the night of April 30 to May 1, unknown persons committed an act of vandalism against the Russian consulate in the city of Mariehamne on the Finnish-owned Aland Islands.

“A group of people threw an explosive noise device, as well as other objects, into the territory of the Russian foreign institution,” the report says.

It is clarified that the consulate building suffered material damage, and the actions of vandals directly threatened the life and health of employees of the diplomatic mission.

The Russian Embassy in Helsinki sent a note to the Finnish Foreign Ministry demanding that measures be taken to bring the perpetrators to justice. Moscow also called for ensuring an adequate level of security for the staff and property of the consulate in the Aland Islands.
