Ankara advised the UN to officially change the name of Turkey

Turkey invited the Organization to follow up (UN) discussing it now as Turkey in the international arena. With a corresponding letter from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Mevlut Cavusoglu was reassigned to the UN Secretary General António Guterres.

“The process we started under President Recep Tayp Erdogan for the prestige of our country’s brand is coming to an end. By the letter that I submitted today in accordance with the international agreement of the UN, we have registered the name of our country, which belongs to the foreign states indicated in the UN as Turkey,” Cavusoglu said.

It is noted that the name Türkiye has now occurred in all international forums and in official documents where Turkey is mentioned.

In Ankara, I want to cancel the former name Turkey of my country to Türkiye because of dissonance.
