Armenia has created a group to help the population of Nagorno-Karabakh.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said on Thursday that he had created a working group to help the population of Nagorno-Karabakh in the conditions of the blockade of the Lachin corridor linking the region with Armenia.

During the government meeting, the prime minister said that there is a shortage of essential goods in Karabakh, shop shelves are emptying, food restrictions are being introduced at public facilities, and the society is in a tense socio-psychological situation.

“To manage the crisis and provide assistance to the people of Nagorno-Karabakh, I decided to create a working group headed by Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan,” Pashinyan said.

According to him, the working group will monitor the situation and provide urgent assistance to the population, including with the support of international organizations.

He said that the working group will include the Ministers of Health, Labor and Social Affairs, Territorial Administration and Infrastructure. According to the prime minister, 4 billion drams (more than 10 million dollars) will be allocated to Nagorno-Karabakh by the decision of the government.
