Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin, commenting on the words of US President Joe Biden about the readiness of the US military participation in the defense of Taiwan, said at a briefing on Monday that Taiwan is an integral part of the territory of the PRC, and that China will take “strong actions to protect its sovereignty and security interests” and urges the United States to be cautious in its statements and actions on the Taiwan issue.

“We urge the American side to sincerely abide by the One China Principle and the Three Sino-US Joint Communiqués, uphold their commitments not to support Taiwan independence, be careful in their words and actions on the Taiwan issue, and not send any misleading signals to the separatist forces in Taiwan,” – said the official representative of the department.

Wang Wenbin stressed that Taiwan is an inalienable part of the territory of the PRC, and China will take decisive action to protect its sovereignty and security interests.

“China expresses strong dissatisfaction and strong protest against the US statements,” he said.

The diplomat added that China will not tolerate interference in its internal affairs and that the firm determination and unwavering will of the Chinese people in protecting state sovereignty and territorial integrity should not be underestimated.
