Berlin court confirms receipt of lawsuit from ex-Chancellor of Germany Schroeder against German Bundestag

The Administrative Court of Berlin received a lawsuit from ex-Chancellor of Germany Gerhard Schroeder against the German Bundestag regarding the deprivation of the former German leader of part of the privileges due to ties with Russia

“I can confirm that the claim has been received,” the court representative said. He added that the trial in the Schroeder case will not be completed until 2023, because “the consideration of one case takes about 17 months on average.”

On August 12, the former German chancellor filed a lawsuit in a Berlin court demanding the return of the office in the Bundestag and employees who were taken away from him in May due to close ties with Russia. Of the privileges, the ex-leader of Germany was left with only personal protection and a state pension.
