“Biden is strong and brave”. Harris said.

US Vice President Kamala Harris said that calls for the rejuvenation of the political establishment are directed to the wrong address, the country already has a strong leader in the person of Joe Biden.

Harris commented on the appeal of former US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley, who announced her intention to participate in the 2024 elections. She said that the United States will not succeed if it does not stop relying on politicians whose heyday came in the last century.

“If you put forward the assumption that a new generation of politicians is needed to counter the person who is now president, this is an attack. But it is not addressed. If the point is that we have strong leadership, then we have a strong leader – this is Joe Biden,” Harris said.

She stressed that the US now has “perhaps one of the most courageous and strongest presidents” in history.

The administration continues to comment on the words of the newly minted presidential candidate, although recent polls among Republicans show weak support for Haley compared to former President Donald Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who has not yet announced plans for the 2024 campaign. The day before, White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre said that the attacks on Biden because of his age do not reflect the reality in which he achieves success.

Biden turned 80 in November and is the oldest president in US history. If he runs for office in 2024 and wins, he will be 86 at the end of his term. The president himself has previously said that he would be honest with American citizens and announce health problems if any. On Thursday, Biden underwent medical examination, the attending physician called him a “healthy and energetic 80-year-old man” who is able to successfully work in the highest government post.
