Blinken discounts Russia’s demands on Ukraine

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that the Russian demand for Kyiv to recognize “new territorial realities” does not allow to establish a negotiation process on Ukraine.

“The Russians are trying to promote the narrative that they are interested in diplomacy, and Ukraine, we are not. This, of course, is not true,” he said at a joint press conference with his British counterpart James Cleverly.

Blinken referred to Russian President Vladimir Putin, who, according to him, said that “if and until Ukraine recognizes the new territorial realities, there will be nothing to talk about”

“In itself, this cannot be a starting point (for negotiations),” the US Secretary of State added.
