Boston Police Blow Up Suspicious Bag, Looks For Unidentified Man

Bomb squad detonated a suspicious package Friday at 11:50 a.m. near an Atlantic Avenue building, offices of Coast Guard, in Boston that was left by an unknown man next to a Homeland Security vehicle.

According to Boston Police Commissioner William Evans, an unidentified man left the bag Friday morning and left the area quickly. The man is not a suspect but it is important to talk to him and know his intension of leaving the suitcase near to the SUV.

He added x-ray machine scanned the bag and found wires as well as a power source. Even though it was not believed to be equipped with any explosive items, but controlled detonation of it was decided.

Several streets were closed in the area and armed tactical officers tried keeping people away from the site.

Police didn’t titled the man in his 40s to be a suspect, but called him person of interest.
