Brazilian President congratulates Joe Biden on election win

Jair Bolsonaro followed the Russian President Putin who sent his congratulations to Joe Biden after the final result given by the US Electoral College on Monday, Xinhua news agency said.

Brazilian President on Tuesday congratulated the United States President-elect Joe Biden on his victory in the presidential race. The finalization of the 2020 election took one month, and now, the world is welcoming the new host of the White House.

President Bolsonaro wrote on his Twitter that Brazil is ready to work with the new Oval Office and continue to “build a Brazil-US alliance” for the benefit of their people. The congratulatory message in Portuguese also posted on the Brazilian Foreign Ministry’s website.

On Monday, the US Electoral College on Monday finally gave Biden an electoral majority of 306 votes. Thus, the dispute over the results of the 2020 presidential election is closed. Joe Biden is celebrating confirming his victory in November’s election.

Under the United States law, Mr Biden will take office on Jan 20, 2021. On Tuesday, the Russian leader Vladimir Putin sent his congratulatory letter to Mr Biden.
