Britain launched an investigation after the leak of documents about the submarine.

The Royal Navy launched an investigation after reports emerged that documents containing information about the £1.3 billion submarine HMS Anson had been found in a pub toilet, the Independent reported.

“An investigation has been launched into … the discovery of documents … in the toilet of the pub,” the publication said.

Earlier on Saturday, British newspaper The Sun reported that supposedly secret documents containing information about the submarine HMS Anson were found in the toilet of a pub in the British county of Cumbria. According to a source cited by the newspaper, the documents were classified as British and showed the interior of the HMS Anson submarine.

The submarine HMS Anson in February 2023 for the first time went to the open sea. It is equipped with heavy torpedoes as well as Tomahawk cruise missiles. The submarine is powered by a nuclear reactor and can operate for 25 years without refueling. According to the publication, HMS Anson is worth £1.3 billion.
