Canada is ready to introduce the new legislation legalise recreational marijuana, according to the reports, Canadians should be able to smoke medical marijuana legally by July 1, 2018.
Canadian senior government official informed on cannabis issue developments on Monday, according to him, the Liberal government is ready to introduce the legislation package for marijuana in a few weeks, consequently, the document will become a law by July 2018.
The countries of North America are legalising the cannabis, in 2016, four states in the USA (California, Massachusetts, Maine, Nevada) voted for an approval the use of recreational marijuana. Four another states (Colorado, Washington, Oregon, Alaska) have legalised it earlier.
Prime minister of Canada Justin Trudeau is considering the legalisation of pot, by July 2018, Canada can be the largest developed country to end the total ban of recreational marijuana. The new law will regulate and restrict access to cannabis, an official statement stressed:
“This will be done in a careful way to keep it out of the hands of children and youth, and to stop criminals from profiting. In order to meet our commitment to legalize, the legislation will need to pass through the parliamentary process in a timely fashion.”
