Canadian MP Baker says Canada does not have weapons promised to Ukraine

The supply of weapons promised to Ukraine is a heavy burden on the Canadian budget, the country has to buy it from the United States. Canadian MP from the Liberal Party Ivan Baker spoke about the absence of weapons

According to Baker, the country’s authorities have already delivered $200 million worth of weapons to Ukraine, of which $100 million were heavy weapons, including M777 howitzer howitzers and ammunition. In addition, Ottawa recently agreed on a $400 million military aid package, the deputy said.

“We do not have these weapons at home, we must buy them on the international market and work with the United States,” he stressed.

Earlier, Simon Wezeman, a senior fellow at the Stockholm Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), said that some of the Western weapons supplied to Ukraine could disappear on the UK black market due to the unrest in the country.
