Candidate for Prime Minister of Britain Truss proposed a way to gain independence from Russian gas

British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said the UK should build more nuclear power plants and increase the production of small modular reactors to end dependence on Russian gas. She made her statement as part of the first pre-election debate of candidates for the post of prime minister, broadcast by Channel 4.

“I think we should look at gas as a transitional fuel… We should also build more nuclear power plants, and we should also build more small modular reactors,” she said when asked about rising energy prices.

Truss is one of five candidates who made it to the third round of elections for the prime minister of the kingdom.

Earlier, British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said that Russia was responsible for the death of Briton Paul Ury, who was held captive in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
