China vows to crack down on attempts to separate Taiwan

The Chinese authorities and the People’s Liberation Army of China will firmly suppress any attempt to separate the island of Taiwan from the mainland. This was stated by Chinese Defense Minister Wei Fenghe during a meeting with Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin in Singapore.

Wei Fenghe stressed that Beijing is going to “firmly defend the unity of the motherland.”
He pointed out that the recognition of the “one China” principle is a prerequisite for the normal development of relations between China and the United States.

Earlier it was reported that the People’s Liberation Army of China began preparations for the worst case scenario in the situation with Taiwan with US intervention in the conflict.

Recently, the Chinese army has already conducted exercises near Taiwan three times.
