Chinese Foreign Ministry accuses the US of intending to introduce a technological blockade of China and Russia

Measures to impose restrictive measures on the sale of American chips to China and Russia should be viewed as an attempt by Washington to establish a technological blockade against these countries. This statement was made by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, Wang Wenbin.

“The United States is politicizing issues related to technology and the economy, <…> imposing a technological blockade,” the diplomat said, noting that by imposing restrictions, “Washington expects to secure a monopoly on advanced technologies in the world in order to maintain its own hegemony.”

Wang Wenbin said that Beijing considers such actions of Washington as useless, which actually “deal a blow to the international trade and economic order.” According to him, such US attempts “are ultimately doomed to failure.”
