Japan received a warning from the Foreign Ministry for placing missiles near the borders of Russia.

Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko said that Russia would immediately respond to Japan in any threat to the Far East, including the appearance of hypersonic missiles on the border islands.

“We will continue to closely monitor the development of Japanese military construction and in the event of any potential security threats to our Far Eastern regions, we will immediately take retaliatory measures in accordance with Russia’s defense doctrine,” he said.

The politician recalled that recently Tokyo has sharply stepped up the modernization of its military potential and is increasing “dangerous activities” near the Russian borders. For example, Japan is conducting large-scale exercises jointly with the United States and other countries, testing new types of missiles and other weapons.

“In this regard, strong protests were repeatedly made to the Japanese side through diplomatic channels,” Rudenko said.
