Donald Trump adores golf even more than his predecessor, after one year in office, the US president plays golf almost three times as much as Barack Obama.
President Trump breaks the new record, he has spent 81 days on the golf course in his first year. In comparison with his two predecessors, Bush and Obama, Trump has spent more time on the green than George W Bush did during eight years in office, and almost three times as much as Barack Obama did during his first year. In the terms of political victories, the situation is not so good.
Nowadays, when all the presidents of the world are available via social media, it is really hard to hide details of the presidential life and leisure. The President’s golfing is often kept under wraps, with White House aides saying that Mr Trump will be spending his weekends working, or in meetings.
Moreover, POTUS personally admitted he was golfing himself on Friday with Tiger Woods and Dustin Johnson.
Donald Trump and golf: promises and reality
Trump always criticised Barack Obama for his spending the time on the golf course. Before entering the White House, Trump promised:
”I’m going to be working for you, I’m not going to have time to go play golf.”
After one year in the office, Trump didn’t deliver his own promise, he is playing golf even often than Obama. According to CBS, Barack Obama played a total of 333 rounds in eight years, while George Bush only played 24 rounds in eight years as he stopped playing in 2003, in response to criticism about his leisure time during the Iraq War. In fact, Trump plays almost three times as much as Obama.
