Dubai cancels all live entertainment in hotels, restaurants

Dubai authorities have banned all kinds of live entertainment activity in hotels and restaurants. The surge in covid19 cases made the health officials to strict the rules, The National reported.

With the new set of rules, the Dubai Tourism tries to curb the spread of infection. The new restrictions affect performances by dancers and bands in Dubai.

The officials said the decision was made to ensure “public health and safety” and that “all permits issued will be on “hold effective immediately”.

Since Jan 1st, Dubai health authorities had recorded 200 offences of the new health protocols. Thus, the ban of all live entertainment activities follows an instruction by the Dubai Health Authority to healthcare centres to cancel all non-essential surgery for a month.

“The department observed, through field inspection, an increase in [the] number of violations during entertainment activities in hotels and restaurants,” said Dubai Tourism in a note to establishments in the emirate.
