The administration of the National Park “Death Valley”, California, closed the entrance to it due to large-scale flooding

It is noted that currently there are about a thousand people in the park – 500 visitors and 500 employees. None of those in the “Valley of Death” was hurt, if they wish, they can leave the park. 60 cars in the parking lot near the park hotel were blocked by stones and debris brought by the flood.


The flooding occurred after almost a year’s worth of rain fell in Death Valley in one morning. This is the second major flood to hit the park in a week.


Death Valley in the Mojave Desert is one of the hottest and driest places in the world and the driest and hottest in North America. In August 2020, the highest temperature on Earth was recorded there – 54.4 degrees Celsius.
