Expert Panel Recommends Resuming Use of J&J Vaccine in US

The CDC Advisory Board recommended resuming the use of the Johnson & Johnson coronavirus vaccine in the United States. The final decision will be made by the regulator itself, taking into account the opinions of experts.

10 experts voted in favor of the decision, four were against, and several abstained due to conflicts of interest due to participation in clinical trials of vaccines.Under the terms of the new recommendation, all U.S. residents over the age of 18 must be vaccinated, while women under the age of 50 must be warned about the very rare side effects of blood clots. They are invited to present the opportunity to choose other vaccines approved for use in the United States.

A week earlier, after side effects, namely the formation of blood clots in patients, and one death in this background, the US authorities recommended a temporary suspension of the use of the J&J coronavirus vaccine. One of them died. According to the latest data, the number of cases has risen to 16, three have died.In the past, the CDC has stressed that vaccine suspension is advisory.
