Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani was one of the first to congratulate the incumbent Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on his victory in the presidential election.

“My dear brother Recep Tayyip Erdogan, I congratulate you on your victory. I wish you good luck during your new term,” the Emir of Qatar wrote on Twitter.


Erdogan was also congratulated by the head of the Government of National Unity of Libya, Abdelhamid Dbeiba.


Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban also congratulated Erdogan on his victory.

“Congratulations to Recep Tayyip Erdogan on his unconditional victory in the elections!” Orban tweeted.

Congratulations, Mr. President!“, – added the Hungarian prime minister in Turkish.


President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated his Turkish counterpart Tayyip Erdogan on his convincing victory in the presidential elections by phone, the press service of the Uzbek leader reported.

“President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on May 28 during a telephone conversation sincerely congratulated the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan on his convincing, historic victory in the presidential elections held today,” the message says.

Mirziyoyev stressed that the high voter turnout and the results of the second round of voting testify to the convincing support of the friendly Turkish people for Erdogan’s policies and course of reforms.

The second round of the presidential elections in Turkey took place on Sunday, polling stations were open from 08.00 local time until 17.00. The current head of the republic, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and the single candidate from the opposition bloc, Kemal Kilicdaroglu, are fighting for the presidency.
