Former Bolivian President Morales: Summit of the Americas showed that the US is losing control in the region

The Summit of the Americas, held from June 6 to 10, to which the leaders of a number of states refused to attend, showed that the United States was losing control over Latin America. Former Bolivian President Evo Morales

According to the politician, the summit was a failure for Washington and the Organization of American States.

“The US arbitrarily excludes three countries. Several presidents do not participate in solidarity with Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua,” he recalled.

According to him, during 20 of the 22 speeches, questions were asked about the reasons for the absence of three countries from the event.

“Before, being expelled from the Organization of American States was feared, today it is an honor. Thus, the United States is losing its hegemony in the region,” Morales concluded.

Earlier, Argentine President Alberto Fernandez at the Summit of the Americas reproached the United States for its unwillingness to invite all the countries of the region to take part in it. In turn, Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador refused to participate in the US-sponsored summit due to the decision of the administration of American leader Joe Biden not to invite Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua to the event.
