Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, in an interview with Stern, advocated the launch of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline against the backdrop of a difficult situation with Germany’s energy supply.

“The simplest solution would be to put the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline into operation,” Schroeder said.

He noted that “when things get really tight,” then the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 pipelines exist, and there will be no problems with gas supplies for German industry and German households.
