Four Russian banks are under threat of sanctions

The European Union may include four Russian banks in the new package of sanctions.

“New financial sanctions: against four Russian banks, including the largest private bank in Russia, Alfa-Bank,” the publication says.

In addition to sanctions, a ban is being considered on the import of rubber and bitumen from Russia to Europe, as well as on the export of certain goods, in particular, trucks and machines used for construction.

Additional restrictions may affect the export of electronic components that can be used for military purposes.

According to the information, it is not yet known whether Russian diamonds will be included in the new package. In addition, they have already openly announced the expansion of personal sanctions.

“The new lists will include about 130 organizations and individuals proposed by Poland, the Baltic States, Germany, France and other countries. These include representatives of the Russian military command, officials appointed by Russia to positions (in new territories), journalists working for Russian state media such as RT,” the statement said.

The sanctions lists may include companies and individuals in other countries, in particular, “associated with Russian military operations” or PMC “Wagner”.
Permanent representatives of the EU countries will discuss a new package of restrictions on Wednesday.
