German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock announced the impossibility of lifting anti-Russian sanctions.
According to her, sanctions against Russia cannot be withdrawn even if they have a negative effect on Germany itself. Earlier, the head of Germany also said that the country had decided to completely reduce dependence on Russian energy resources.
“There will be no lifting of sanctions against Russia behind Ukraine’s back,” the politician specified.
On Tuesday, May 10, Annalena Burbock paid an unannounced visit to the Ukrainian city of Bucha. The agency indicated that the visit of Burbock, who visited the suburbs of Kyiv, came as a surprise.
In May, Burbock also noted that Germany is responsible for protecting Ukraine and all of Europe, which should be made clear to Russia. At the same time, she stressed that the government should make decisions based on how this will affect the well-being of Germany and its citizens. She added that the supply of weapons to Kyiv is a necessary measure necessary in order to stop hostilities.
