Germany announced ongoing negotiations with Canada on the supply of turbines for SP-1

Negotiations with Canada on the supply of turbines for the Nord Stream gas pipeline continue with the support of the European Commission. This was stated by the representative of the Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection of Germany, Beate Baron.

“These negotiations are ongoing. We have addressed the issue to Canada and are also in contact with the European Commission,” said Baron.

On June 14, Gazprom reduced gas supplies via Nord Stream due to the untimely return of turbines by Siemens after repairs. In particular, according to Siemens Energy, one of the turbines cannot be returned to Germany due to Canadian anti-Russian sanctions.

On July 1, it became known that the Nord Stream gas pipeline would not operate from July 11 to 21 due to scheduled annual repairs.
