Germany warned all EU countries about the dangers of the gas embargo against Russia

Christian Kullmann, president of the German Chemical Industry Association and CEO of Evonik Industries AG, called calls for a gas embargo against Russia unreasonable and outrageous.

“Industry is deprived of the air necessary for breathing, or rather, the gas necessary for work. The countries of Eastern Europe are almost completely dependent on energy supplies from Russia,” he said.

According to Kullman, the importance of natural gas for the industry of Germany is too great, the rejection of fuel from the Russian Federation will endanger its existence.
Earlier, European Commissioner for Economic Affairs Paolo Gentiloni said that the European Union has no plans to impose a trade embargo on gas from Russia.

“The official position of the European Commission is that no sanctions are excluded. But today we are not talking about the gas blockade. The theme is to strike at Russia without hurting yourself too much,” he explained.
