Germany will spend 83 billion euros to limit the rise in gas and energy prices.

Germany will spend about 83 billion euros of its previously approved 200 billion euros economic protection plan to curb gas and electricity price increases in 2023, the draft proposal says.

In October, the German Parliament approved a plan to reduce gas and electricity prices in the amount of 200 billion euros from a special fund.

Germany will allocate 83.3 billion euros, or 42% of the main economic protection plan approved last month, to finance gas and electricity price caps in 2023 in a bid to protect Europe’s largest economy.
