In Switzerland, predicted a sharp increase in electricity prices

Some electricity providers in Switzerland will be forced to raise tariffs in 2023 because the country could experience electricity shortages as early as winter, the Federal Electricity Commission said on June 5

“Supply rates will increase significantly for many suppliers in 2023. As for the security of supplies next winter, uncertainty remains. A shortage is not ruled out,” the report says.

Most of the surveyed companies decided to raise electricity tariffs in 2023 by 47%. This will happen due to high electricity prices in Europe, rising coal prices. At the same time, Switzerland’s energy security will depend on the export capabilities of neighboring countries.
