Iran, Italy discuss bilateral trade

Iran and Italy have refreshed their commitments to strengthen the bilateral ties on Tuesday.

The Iranian top diplomat Mohammad Javad Zarif is taking a European tour, during which he met with the President of the Italian Chamber of Deputies Roberto Fico. being in the EU country, the foreign minister Zarif also paid a visit to Pope Francis, Vatican Prime Minister Cardinal Pietro Parolin. Minister Zarif also had a meeting with his Vatican counterpart Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher.

The Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs and the International Cooperation Luigi Di Maio welcomed the Iranian diplomat who is in Rome is the second leg of his European tour which started from Madrid, Spain, on May 13, IRNA reported.

Another EU nation, Slovenia, sent a message to Iran on the occasion of World Bee Day, expressing hope for improving the situation for implementing projects. Slovenia provides technical support for Iran beekeepers and follow up their cooperation with the international community.

World Bee Day is celebrated on May 20. On this day Anton Jansa, the pioneer of beekeeping, was born in 1734. The purpose of the international day is to acknowledge the role of bees and other pollinators in the ecosystem.
