Italy’s Eni is exploring options for resuming supplies from Gazprom.

The Italian oil and gas group Eni is exploring ways to resume gas supplies from Gazprom through Austria, the Italian company said in a statement.

“In the next few hours, Eni intends to evaluate with the Austrian operator and Gazprom some options for unblocking supplies, but it is premature to provide details before the parties agree on their actual feasibility,” the communiqué says.

Eni said on Saturday that Gazprom had informed it of the suspension of gas supplies to Italy due to the “impossibility of transporting it” through Austria.
